OYSTAR. The Process & Packaging Group
OYSTAR Enhances Business in South America
The OYSTAR Group reports new business successes in South America. Five companies have sold a total of four packaging and five cartoning machines to Chile, Brazil and Mexico.
The Multipack 5000 wrapping machine from OYSTAR Benhil is the highest performance single-cell wrapping machine for pasty products worldwide with an output of up to 135 packages per minute and format flexibility ranging from 50 to 500 g. In 2010 the machine will also be employed in Chile’s largest dairy, Soprole S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fonterra Cooperative Group Ltd, New Zealand: OYSTAR Benhil received an order to supply a Multipack 5000 for the production of margarine packages. Approximately a third of Chilean dairy products come from Soprole.
The new Multipack 5000 will be supplemented by a fully automatic wrap-around packer from OYSTAR A+F. The cartoning machine collects and stacks the packages supplied by the wrapping machine and packs them into shipping cartons. In doing so it is adapted to the specific product requirements and performance of the upstream machine.
Sale of the two machines is the consequence of several years of cooperation between the OYSTAR Group and Soprole. Thus in the year 2006 OYSTAR Erca-Formseal already manufactured two forming, filling and sealing machines (FFS) for yogurt production in Chile. In the two years that followed two further FFS machines were delivered.
In addition to OYSTAR Benhil and OYSTAR A+F, other OYSTAR companies have also reported business successes in South America. Thus, for example, OYSTAR IWK received an order for two new tube filling lines from a leading international drugstore merchandise manufacturer. TFS 80-8, the world’s fastest tube filling line, will be deployed in Brazil in 2010 with an output of 750 tubes per minute, while the TFS 80-6 with an output of 510 tubes per minute will be used in Mexico. Up to now the TFS 80-6 was the fastest tube line in the world. Now the TFS 80-8 enhances its predecessor’s performance by 50%. The package commissioned by the customer also includes reconstruction and services at the two respective business locations.
OYSTAR Fabrima also has new orders to show in Brazil: Next year the company will deliver four cartoning machines to four different customers. For its part OYSTAR Gasti received an order to supply a Dogatherm cup filling and sealing machine to Chile.
Thus the OYSTAR Group continues to expand its traditionally successful business in South America. Since 1954 OYSTAR Benhil has already supplied more than 300 machines to South America. Already in 1993 a packaging machine from OYSTAR Erca-Formseal was supplied to the Mexican food manufacturer Sigma Alimentos. Four additional machines followed.
