OYSTAR Packaging Technologies Acquires MAP Systems

Davenport, IA., March, 2008 – OYSTAR Packaging Technologies  announces the acquisition of MAP Systems, a division of Clear Lam Packaging. OYSTAR Packaging Technologies is a subsidiary of OYSTAR – The Process & Packaging Group, headquartered in Germany, which was formerly the packaging machinery division of IWKA AG. ‘The acquisition of MAP Systems is a further step in the double strategy of OYSTAR Holding that consists of both internal and external growth’, stated Wolf-Dieter Baumann, CEO of OYSTAR Holding.

The combination of OYSTAR Packaging Technologies and MAP Systems creates a primary packaging solutions provider specializing in packaging line integration.  The patented MAP Systems technology is based on the delivery of very specific, non-abusive streams of inert or active gasses into the product and its primary package; cans, jars, bottles, vials, pouches, bags, trays, etc. The objective being to maintain freshness and to extend the products shelf life beyond the levels that is attainable through conventional packaging methods. This can provide the processor with a significant ROI, allow them to expand their distribution and to gain market share.
